The Price of God's Wonder - Working Power # 6

As we approach the soon coming Rapture in these last days and as a Prophet of God, I have written this series to instruct us in what it takes to have God’s miracle – working power operating in our lives in a way that we have not seen before. The world needs to see Christ’s disciples lay hands on people and see them instantly changed and healed i.e. blind eyes opening, tumors disappearing, the lame to walk, deaf ears opening, the dumb to speak, people instantly delivered, etc. With all the turmoil that Satan is causing, God wants to show forth His glory and power though His people like never before. The sixth requirement is entitled:

Present you bodies as a living sacrifice to the LORD- in Romans 12:1 the word says that we need to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service.  God doesn’t make a habit of using that which does not belong to Him. He uses vessels which are yielded to Him-consecrated, sanctified, set apart for His use. A body that is not completely yielded and surrendered to God is still, more or less, domineered by Satan or self. A person does not have to be highly qualified or handsome for God to use. He looks at the heart and the only reason that God rejects some is because they are not acceptable! God makes only two requirements for an “acceptable sacrifice”-it must be holy and it must be His. That which is not holy is an abomination to God. This type of sacrifice is defiled by the habits and sins of the world.

That which is God’s must not only be His on the day to go to church or prayer meeting, but seven days and nights every week. And it must be presented with no strings attached. You must say “I renounce all authority over my body, now and forever.” You must say “LORD it is yours to do with as you please.” Acceptable consecration is like handing the LORD a blank paper with your name signed at the bottom which says, Fill it in any way you want LORD and it shall be my contract forever.” A sacrifice is not complete by merely saying yes to specific callings or requests by the LORD when they are given. Total sacrifice involves a wholehearted determination to devote your entire life to doing the will of the LORD, no matter what it is. It is the realization that you are not your own (1 Cor. 6:19). To receive a free-flow of God’s miracle-working power in your life, you must present you body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

As part of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice our tongues are included. The word says in Ephesians 4:29 –“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of our mouths but that which is good to the use of edifying.” Words that do not edify are wasted words. Words can either build up or tear down. James said in Chapter 3:10 “out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing or cursing. My brethren these things ought not so to be.” James compares the speech coming out of our mouths to water coming from a fountain (see verse 11).  He insists that a fountain should give forth the same kind of water all the time-not sweet water part of the time and bitter water part of the time. Then he adds, "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you?" Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom (James 3:13).

Jesus said, whosoever (that means you) shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23).  It’s the same power Jesus used when He spoke to the wind and the sea and calmed the storm (see Mark 4:39). It’s the same power Moses used when he spoke to the rock in the desert and water gushed forth (see Numbers 20:8). Joshua used the same power when he commanded the sun and the moon to stand still (see Joshua 10:12, 13). Jesus demonstrated this power when He spoke to the fig tree, saying, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever (Mark 11:14). He commanded the tree to die and it died! It was on this occasion that He expressly delegated this same power and authority to any who believe.

Men and women who have God’s power in their words can speak deliverance from every oppression of Satan-words that bring salvation for the soul and healing for the body. To them-His representatives Jesus warned that idle, wasted words would be brought into judgment. Words which could have been life, deliverance, and bread to starving souls, but instead were words of chaff! How will we measure up in that day, when our deeds and words are judged by the standard of the Word of God: If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles {utterance or speech} of God (1Peter 4:11).

The reason so many Christians speak so many idle words is simply because they speak so many words. They talk so much that they have no time to think or listen to the voice of God. In this time that we live in it takes real effort and consecration to study to be quiet (1 Thess. 4:11) and wait before God till we receive His powerful words. “In the multitude of words there wanteth no sin (Proverbs 10:19).

Holiness is necessary if we are to have God’s power in our lives and holiness is not complete until it has taken possession of the tongue. “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be holy in all manner of conversation (1 Peter 1:15).

Consecrate yourselves to God afresh and present your body to Him, a living sacrifice. Do not forget or neglect to include your tongue, your lips and your voice. “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt. (Colossians 4:6). As I mentioned earlier, our words can uplift or tear one down.
