Press On! #2

As I mentioned in the previous message, in Phil. 3:13-14 Paul says “ this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of Elohim in Yahshua.” You may feel that you are weak and weary and are in danger of losing hope but we have to realize that Elohim is our strength and will finish His purpose in us and through us. Nothing the enemy is permitted to throw at us can stop us – no weapon that is formed against us will prosper. Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world and if He be for us who can successfully come against us. You have nothing to fear but fear itself. Yahweh has not given us the spirit of fear but power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7). We have to ignore the natural and “press on”!

In 2 Kings Chapter 13 verse 14 Joash the king came to Elisha and he wanted some guidance from Elohim on the danger of the Syrians. Elisha told Joash to shoot arrows of deliverance from Syria out the window. He shot three arrows and Elisha said that he should have shot five or six arrows and that they would have consumed them in battle. However because he only shot three arrows they would only defeat them three times (v.15-19). Joash needed to press harder and not be content. In dealing with fleshly enemies don’t be satisfied if you have not touched alcohol or drugs for two weeks. Believe Elohim to permanently set you free. Don’t be satisfied if your husband has not beaten you up in two weeks. Believe for his salvation and total freedom from his abuse. Don’t settle for a “truce” from the devil. “Press on” and believe for winning not just a battle but the whole war through Yahshua.

In 2 Kings Chapter 4 there was a widow lady whose dead husband owed some debts to creditors and now these creditors were coming to take her sons into slavery as she could not pay. She didn’t look to man she looked to Elohim by going to Elisha, the man of God. He told her to barrow vessels to put oil in from her neighbors. She did and Elisha said that from the one pot of oil that she had that she should start pouring the oil into the borrowed pots. She kept pouring and pouring until all the pots were filled (v. 1-7).  She ran out of pots and the oil stopped. She had enough oil to pay off the debts and retire, but imagine if she got more pots. Imagine what Elohim could have done for her to bless many others. She stopped and didn’t press further. You see, we can’t limit Elohim. He can do exceedingly, abundantly above anything that we can ask or imagine  (please see my message on" Do we limit God”).

Also, in 2 Kings Chapter 4 there is a story of a Shunamite lady and her husband who fixed up a room in their house for Elisha to stay whenever he came to town. He was so grateful that he asked his servant what they needed as he wanted to pray for them. The servant said that they couldn’t have a child so he prayed for the couple and they had a boy. The boy died and the Shunamite lady came to Elisha. He asked her if her husband and boy were fine and she said “all is well.” She “pushed on” to a faith declaration even though her boy was dead. Elisha laid on top of the dead child eye to eye, mouth to mouth, etc. until his flesh became warm but he didn’t stop there. He laid on him again and the child sneezed seven times. Elisha press on for complete miracle and we need to do so too.

In 2 Kings 5 there is a story of Naaman a general who was also a leper. He went to Elisha to get healed. Elisha said that he should dip seven times into the Jordan River and that he would be whole. He didn’t want to but one of his men convinced him to do so. The seventh time that he dipped is when he was totally healed-his skin became like a baby’s skin (v. 10-14). If he had stopped after five or six times he wouldn’t have been healed. You may be suffering in your body for years but “press on” and believe one more time and agree with me that you are healed right now in the Name of Yahshua.

In John Chapter 10, Yahshua found out that the His friend Lazarus had died. Martha and Mary, two of his relatives came to Him and said that if he was there Lazarus would not have died. They didn’t know that He was the Resurrection and the Life, Elohim in the flesh. He had to “push” past their doubt and had to do the same at the tomb where everyone was weeping and wailing. He did and called Lazarus’ name and he came forth. If He didn’t say “Lazarus” but just “come forth” everyone who had died would have come forth! His word is so powerful! He is calling your name today to “come forth” form whatever is trying to keep you down and let that same resurrection power that raised Lazarus from the dead quicken you. Be healed, whole and delivered right now in the Name of Yahshua.

When we get a victory from Yahweh we need to make sure that we “press on” in our faith no matter what our flesh may be saying until we are satisfied in our spirits that we have complete victory. Praise Him!
