God - The "Avenger"

In Hebrews 10 v. 30, God says that vengeance belongs to Him and that He will recompense! The word also says that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God(v.31). The manifestation of God that He wants me to cover in this message is That He is our "Avenger."

" It doesn’t matter how long that somebody has been coming against you and it may seem that what they are doing is prospering, but God is ready to manifest in your life as the "Avenger." All you have to do is make sure that you have turned your life over to Jesus and are allowing Him to conform you to His image (Romans 8 v. 29). You have to allow Him complete access to your flesh, to control that sinful nature. You have to realize that if you are saved the devil is not your biggest problem, it is your flesh! With this in mind, God can reveal Himself in your life as the "Avenger" against your enemies and circumstances!

In Exodus Chapter 2, Moses is hiding out in the backside of the dessert and God appears to him out of a burning bush. He said in v. 7 that He has heard the cries of His people and that He has come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and bring them into a good and large land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. He wants to do the same for you today! He was tired of the enemy oppressing His people and keeping them out of their destiny and said "enough is enough." I am going to bring them out to bring them in, despite all odds! He then told Moses to tell His people that: "I am that I am." "I am all powerful and no body can stop me."

The Egyptians were not willing to let God’s people leave Egypt. God had to bring some plagues on the Egyptians. In Exodus Chapter 8 v. 22, God said that from this point on none of His plagues will affect His people, only their enemies, the Egyptians! He put a division between them. In v. 24, the word records that God sent flies, all over the Egyptians. He really disrupted their "comfort zone." He is doing the same thing to your enemies. He is making them extremely uncomfortable. He is teaching them a lesson to not touch His anointed ones! In Chapter 9, v. 4 -7, the word records that God plagued the cattle of the Egyptians and none of the cattle of His people were touched! God is going to strike the livelihoods of your enemies! The ones who want to get you fired on your job will be the ones that God fires. Their dreams for you will turn out to be their worst nightmare! In v. 10, God put boils on the Egyptians. This was another blow to their comfort zone. The magicians got the boils so bad that they could not stand against Moses and Aaron! God is ready to disrupt the comfort zone of the false prophets (magicians). These are the ones who prophesized to you out of their flesh and manipulated you. He is doing the same things to other ministers who manipulated, controlled and provided a bad example for you! A person can’t keep ministering to God’s people in the flesh with fleshly motives and not be susceptible to God’s wrath of judgment! He is very protective over His children. Justice that seems to be delayed by God is not justice denied! It may seem that some people that came against you have won, as it has been going on for so long, but His timing is perfect! Un-repented acts always bring God’s judgment. It is just a matter of His timing!

In Exodus 14, God’s people are at the Red Sea and seemed to be closed in by the Egyptians, but the trap is not set up for His people. The Egyptians were the ones who were being "set up" by God. God put it in the Egyptians heart to attack His people, so He would get the glory! He didn’t bring His people out without bringing them in! He is doing the same thing with you, if you let Him do so. He wants to control your flesh so you don’t bring any extra baggage into the promise land! He wanted to do a vengeance work on the enemies of His people (Egyptians), but He also wanted to conquer some fleshly things in His children’s lives. He wanted to show them that they needed to not be afraid of their enemies, but know that if they were coming against His people they were in fact, attacking Him! God wanted to show them and is saying the same thing to you that He controls everything and everybody! (Colossians 1 v. 16, 17). Everybody was created by Him and for Him and by Him all things consist. God brought His vengeance on the Egyptians by drowning them after they continued to pursue His people!

In Isaiah Chapter 35, God is preparing His people for an attack by the Syrians. He said in v. 4 not to be fearful but that He will come with a vengeance against His enemies. He said in v. 10 that they will obtain joy and gladness and that all sorrow will flee away! In Chapter 36, the enemy is trying to put fear into God’s people (v. 16-18) God tells His people in Chapter 37 v. 6 and 7 not to be afraid of the enemy because they have blasphemed Him when they came against His people and that their leader will return to his own land and be killed! God also said in v. 23 that they came against Him when they threatened His people! You need to remember this today that if God be for you who can be successfully against you? Your enemies are God’s enemies! He wants you to stay in His presence and let Him handle your enemies! Remember vengeance is His! God destroyed the enemy as recorded in v. 36 by using one angel to kill 285,000 of the enemy! Their leader returned to his own land and was killed by his sons, just as God said! God is true to His word concerning you- no weapon formed against you will ever prosper! (Isaiah 54 v. 17)
